“For many of us, our pets are family members. When it’s time to say goodbye, the resulting sense of loss and grief is as real and sometimes as overwhelming as when we lose a relative or human friend.
Grieving the loss of a friend or companion is a sign of the love that existed between you. The first step in coping with your grief is to acknowledge your feelings. At PAWS Pet Loss & Grief Support Group, you can share your feelings with others who are going through a similar experience.
Feel free to bring a picture of your beloved pet and share your pet’s story.
This free and informal support group meets monthly and is for adults 16 years and older. A child’s class will be held at the same time for children between the ages of 6 and 16 lead by our Education Department.

Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park – Texas Parks and Wildlife
“We’re inviting everyone to a campout or night out at Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley State Park with tours, a sunset hike to the hawk tower, music around the campfire, and stargazing.
Our goal is to show folks in the Rio Grande Valley and in the rest of the country the precious jewel that could be lost if Trump’s border wall is built through the park forcing it to close.
We ask that all participants arrive by 4:30 PM on Saturday for a group photo and the sunset hike.
There are a limited number of campsites available, which will require an RSVP here: https://goo.gl/forms/ht2Fp5sy5pCqGQ7x1. Day visitors will still get to stay for the campfire and stargazing because the park is open until 10:00PM.”
