Whole Women’s Health Alliance is hosting a call for Zine Entries around the topics of reproductive justice, immigration reform, environmental justice and other issues affecting the RGV community in an intersectional manner. The project is a part of the Skank for Choice, a nationwide series of local community fundraising events to help women and girls pay for abortions they couldn’t otherwise afford.
Denni Arjona of Whole Woman’s Health Alliance along with South Texans for Reproductive Justice spearheads the event. She describes the zine project as a tool to educate the public on reproductive justice and to tell the Valley narratives of those impacted by the restrictions on health care and their bodies.

Artists, poets, writers and photographers are invited to submit images, poems, or short stories that tell their personal testimonies of abortion, reproductive justice and experiences in general as people of la frontera. The zine will be distributed at the Fifth Skank for Choice fundraiser happening Saturday, May 25th at Yerberia Cultura in McAllen and future events statewide. An electronic color version of the Zine will be available for download and online sharing.
